About Rob

Why I created On Course Coaching

“There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone step into their own potential—whether it’s a teenager figuring out their path, a professional realigning their career, or a retiree redefining their purpose.”

I’m Rob, and I started On Course Coaching to help people navigate that exact part of retirement—the part traditional planning often overlooks.

Although my focus on retirement is newer, the work itself is not. I spent 30 years as an educator, and I’ve been a Professional Certified Coach for over 20 years. Throughout that time, I helped people navigate important life transitions, first through my work with youth and families, and later through coaching adults in other stages of life. Now, I focus that experience on a transition I understand personally and see many people quietly struggle with: learning how to live well in retirement, not just prepare for it financially.

Over the years, I’ve become a lifelong student of what helps people move forward with clarity and confidence. My work draws from fields such as positive psychology, emotional intelligence, storytelling, and applied neuroscience.

As both an educator and youth coach, I have found great meaning these past many decades supporting youth and young adults transition into the next phase of their lives. Now, having experienced retirement years myself, it only seems natural to support others in living their best lives as they navigate this new chapter in their lives.

Outside of my work, I’m drawn to many of the same things I value in coaching: curiosity, learning, reflection, and connection. That often shows up in simple ways—exploring bookstores, museums, and galleries, cooking, and spending time with friends and family, and our rescue dogs.
